Wolverines finish off pre-season with a win

The Waywayseecappo Wolverines finished off their pre-season schedule with a feisty 4-3 shootout win over the Dauphin Kings.

The Wolverines came back from a two one goal deficits to win in an entertaining shootout.

Liam Tereposky was the hero of the shootout making a great save in the third round to keep it going.

Andrew Boucher gave the Wolverines the advantage in the next round by beating Mathias Smith. Tereposky made one more stop to finish it off.

Tereposky made 26 of 29 in the game for the win. Smith made 11 of 13 for the Kings. Dauphin switched goalies midway through the second, as Keaton Woolsey stopped 13 of 14 in the first half of the game.

The Wolverines got scoring help from Carson Baptiste, Jacob Charko and Reese Malkewich.

Dauphin’s goals were scored by Lucas Hand, Ben Hackl and Braedon Lacomy.

It was the end of exhibition for both teams as they both get ready to play their regular season openers on Friday.

The Wolverines start their season in Virden when they take on the Oil Capitals at 7:30pm. They will return back home the next night for their home opener on Saturday at 7:30pm against the same Virde
