Wolverines fall in overtime

A great game between the Waywayseecappo Wolverines and the Dauphin Kings ended with the Kings skating away with an overtime win.

Matthew Rathbone scored at 2:33 into OT, to give the Kings their third straight win over their West Division rivals.

The game featured outstanding performances by both goalies, Dauphin’s Carson Cherapak, and Waywayseecappo’s Liam Tereposky. Cherapak stopped 33 shots in the win, while Tereposky stopped 35 in the loss.

Dauphin started the scoring in the second period when Nick Braun tucked it by Tereposky.

The Wolverines responded near the end of the second period when Lonan Bulger fired one past Cherapak on the powerplay.

Both teams will play one more time in 2021, when they play on Saturday in Dauphin, as the Wolverines will try to avoid a sweep in the game. It starts at 7:30pm.
