Wolverines dominate Titans in School Game

The Waywayseecappo Wolverines controlled Tuesday’s matinee game against the Neepawa Titans from start to finish, to win 6-1, for the second lopsided victory over Neepawa in just over a week.

Just 8 days removed from beating the Titans 5-1, the Wolverines gave the crowd of 526 kids an encore for the annual School Game.

Just like the game before, Jaxon Grosdidier scored twice, while his linemates also got three points each.

Grosdidier got the scoring started when he was able to beat KC Couckuyt just 4:13 into the game.

Later on in the period, Sebastian Stone got his first of the season after a nice pass from the point from Lucas Perry.

Neepawa got one back right away when Cooper Kasprick was able to beat Wolverines goaltender Jase Wareham short side.

But later on in the period, Dru Mushumanski scored his first in the MJHL to make it 3-1.

In the second period, it was Deegan Wapass that was able to score his third of the season, when he was able to clean up a rebound to make it 4-1.

In the third, Grosdidier scored his second of the game, from Stone and Behrend.

Aidan Herring added the final goal of the game, getting his third of the season, to make it a final 6-1.

Jase Wareham stopped 31 shots in the win, while Couckuyt stopped 21 of 27 shots in the game for the loss.

The Wolverines penalty kill kept on rolling with three penalty kills, which continues their stretch since the start of the year of only giving up a single goal shorthanded. The powerplay was another story, going 0/2 in the game.

The Wolverines will now take on the undefeated Selkirk Steelers on Thursday at home a
