Wolverines come back to beat Steelers in OT

The Waywayseecappo Wolverines pulled another rabbit out of their hat, as they came from behind to beat the Selkirk Steelers in overtime, 3-2.

Jack Clarke scored on the powerplay, 4:23 into overtime, to give the Wolverines a massive two points, and keep them in the race for the final playoff spot in the West Division.

After the Selkirk Steelers got two goals from Joel Purdom, the Wolverines slowly chipped away with goals from Lucas Perry in the second period and Aiden Moser with only 6:16 left in regulation to tie the game and send it to overtime.

Kaiden Kirkwood came up huge as well, making spectacular saves in the final minutes to keep the Steelers from winning in regulation.

Since the game went to overtime, the Wolverines guaranteed themselves that they would be still in the playoff race past the game.

After a penalty in overtime, Jack Clarke put the game away and gave the Wolverines the win.

The win moves the Wolverines three points back of Neepawa, and the overtime loss moves the Steelers one point back of Niverville in the East.

The Wolverines are still climbing up a big mountain, with needing to get at least three points the rest of the way, playing OCN on Friday and Virden on Sunday. They will also need Neepawa to lose all three games over the weekend.
