Wolverines and Stampeders start critical four-game series

One four game series ends, and another one begins for the Waywayseecappo Wolverines.

The Wolverines are set to play the Swan Valley Stampeders four times over the course of two weeks, starting on Thursday at 7:30pm in Waywayseecappo.

Both teams had multiple wins in their first four game stretch, with the Wolverines winning three games over the Virden Oil Capitals, and Swan Valley winning their last two games against the OCN Blizzard.

The two teams are separated by two points in the early part of the season.

The Wolverines have played in four blowout games to start the season, winning games 5-2, 5-1, 7-2 and then losing 7-4.

Swan Valley had tighter games, losing 4-3 and 5-3, before winning 3-2 and 1-0 in a shootout.

On special teams, the Wolverines are sitting third in the league on the powerplay with a 31.3%, while the Stampeders are at a 5.9%.

But on the penalty kill, the Wolverines have killed off 76.5% of the penalties they have taken. Swan Valley is sitting at 100%.

The teams will play again on Saturday in Swan Valley at 7:00pm.
