Wolverines and Oil Capitals Set for First Matchup Since October

The Waywayseecappo Wolverines start 2019 on the road against the Virden Oil Capitals who turned around their season after a very slow start.

In the first three meetings of 2018, it was the Wolverines who had a more successful showing, beating the Oil Capitals 4-1 on home ice before taking down the Caps’ 3-2 in a shootout at Tundra Oil & Gas Place.

Returning home just two days later to Waywayseecappo, it was Virden who would come out on top in what would be the final meeting of 2018. The matchup would require extra time for the second straight game, which saw Jack Einarson break the tie just 54 seconds into the overtime period.

As previously mentioned, the Oil Capitals had a strong finish to 2018, posting an impressive 9-1-0-0 record down the final stretch while the Wolverines went 3-6-1-0.
