Tresor Wotton signs with the Wolverines

The Waywayseecappo Wolverines are happy to announce that goaltender Tresor Wotton has signed a letter of intent with the team for the 2021-22 season.

The Wolverines recently acquired Wotton (‘03) from the Swan Valley Stampeders in exchange for future considerations.

The Foxwarren native, has played the last three seasons with the Yellowhead Chiefs of the Manitoba Under-18 Hockey League. In his three seasons and one playoff, Wotton has 34-12-3 record in 51 games. In those appearances he also had 7 shutouts.

The 5’11”, 150-pound goaltender has played in the Yellowhead region most of his life as he played with the Chiefs of the Winnipeg AAA Hockey Under-15 League before graduating into the U-18 league.

Wotton says he is excited to be part of the team.

“I’m happy to have this opportunity to play for this great organization moving forward.”

Being from Foxwarren, Tresor has grown up near Waywayseecappo and says he has been going to games since he was a kid.

“It’ll be great to gave the opportunity to play close to home, and have family come out to watch games,” said Wotton. “I’ve been going to games since I was five or six.”

Head Coach Taylor Harnett says he’s excited to welcome a homegrown talent to the club.

“This is a great move for the organization, the community and of course for Tresor,” says Harnett. “This acquisition will add another Wotton to the Wolverines family, which we are very happy with.

Tresor is a cousin to current Wolverine forward Logan Wotton, who says it’s going to be fun to compete with Tresor in practice, and welcomes him to the organization.
