Wolverines acquire rights to McCorrister and Buors

The Waywayseecappo Wolverines have acquired the CJHL Rights to defencemen Tavon McCorrister (’06) and forward Ian Buors (’06) from the Warman Wolverines of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League for a player development fee.

McCorrister, from Winnipeg, MB, played with the Notre Dame Hounds last year, putting up 7 points in 33 games. The 6’5 defencemen also suited up with the Kindersley Klippers last year, and started his junior career with the Winnipeg Blues and OCN Blizzard. Tavon also played for Team Manitoba at the National Aboriginal Hockey Championships in 2023 and 2024.

Buors, from St. Laurent, MB, also played with the Hounds, putting up 28 points (10 goals, 18 assists) in 56 games in his first junior season. He played for Team SJHL at the MJHL-SJHL Showcase last season. Ian played with Team Manitoba in the National Aboriginal Hockey Championships in 2023 and 2024.
