Wolverines Acquire Jack Tonnies From Terriers

The Waywayseecappo Wolverines have acquired 18-year-old Defenceman Jack Tonnies from the Portage Terriers in exchange for Morgan Poirier.

In 25 games this season, the 6-foot-2, 201-pound defender from Swift Current has posted four assists and 57 penalty minutes.

“We are extremely excited to have acquired a player of Jack’s makeup,” Wolverines Head Coach and General Manager, Taylor Harnett said. “That being said, we knew we had to get somebody that was going to make an immediate impact, not only today but tomorrow as well.

“Certain things that stood out when we were making our assessment were his hockey sense and his creativity. He seems to read the play really well and will replace a certain physicality to our game,” Harnett concluded.

The Wolverines would like to welcome Jack and his family to the organization.
