Wolverines acquire goaltender Bercier

The Waywayseecappo Wolverines have acquired goaltender Mariko Bercier from the SJHL’s Notre Dame Hounds for a Player Development Fee.

Mariko was part of the Hounds opening game roster, and appeared in two games this year, both in relief, and had a 3.51 goals against average and .889 save percentage.

The Pas, MB product played in the Notre Dame system for the past four seasons, suiting up for the Under-18 AAA team in the last two. He put up 3.69 GAA and a .902 save percentage last year.

He also played for Team Manitoba at the National Aboriginal Hockey Championships, helping the team win a gold medal in 2023.

The 17-year-old will join the Wolverines this weekend as they head up to The Pas to take on the Northern Manitoba Blizzard, starting on Friday at 7:00pm.
