Wolverines Acquire Defenceman Riley Little

The Waywayseecappo Wolverines have acquired defenceman Riley Little (01) from the Weyburn Red Wings in exchange for future considerations.

Little, a native of Saskatoon Saskatchewan, was caught off guard by the trade but is looking forward to the opportunity in Waywayseecappo. “I’ve heard Wayway is a good organization to be apart of, with a solid coaching staff and a nice facility to play in.”

The trade for Little is the second deal the Red Wings and Wolverines have struck this off-season. In early June, Head Coach and General Manager Taylor Harnett acquired defenseman Daytona Houle from Weyburn, something that will help the transition east for Riley. “Having Daytona as a teammate again will be nice as we billeted together in Weyburn last season. I looked through the Wolverines roster and didn’t recognize many names, so it will be nice knowing someone.”

When asked what Wolverine fans can expect from him when camp opens later this month, Little said, ” I play a very defensive game, which makes me a stay at home defenceman. I also like to play with a bit of aggression.”

The Wolverines would like to welcome Riley and his family into our organization!
