The Waywayseecappo Wolverines are about to begin a tough stretch against East Division opponents.
After playing the Swan Valley Stampeders last week, they took on the Winkler Flyers and Winnipeg Blues, which started a stretch of ten straight games against teams in the East Division. So far the team has started 0-2, after losing 5-0 to Winkler, in what could be described as the team’s worst game of the year, and then 3-2 to Winnipeg the next night, which had a bad first period, and then domination the rest of the way, but just couldn’t tie the game.
The Wolverines will have to play the Flyers again, and so far they have lost the two games against them and have lost those games of a total of 13-3. Then they’ll take on the Pistons, another team they have lost to this year, but in a better light, just losing 5-3 in early October. The Terriers will be the last game of the week, and they have gone 1-1 in the season series so far this year, winning their one game in Portage.
Before the week begins, the Wolverines are tied with Neepawa for third place in the West Division with 17 points, but have played three more games. They also sit four points up on Swan Valley for the fourth and final playoff spot.
