The Waywayseecappo Wolverines are down to their final five games of the season, and four of them will be on home ice.
Two of those home games will be this week as they host the top team in the league, and then host a potential playoff opponent.
After clinching last week, the Wolverines are competing for playoff seeding in the West Division. At the moment, they are two points back of the Dauphin Kings for 2nd place, which would mean home ice advantage for the first round. Both teams have five games left, including one game against each other.
The Wolverines are also six points up on the Neepawa Titans for third in the West, which would avoid the West Division champions the Virden Oil Capitals in the first round. Waywayseecappo also owns the tiebreaker against Neepawa, so the Titans would have to beat the Wolverines outright. Neepawa has one game in hand, but the two play next week against each other.
They start their week against the Niverville Nighthawks, just days after losing to them on Saturday 6-2. The Hawks have gone 3-0 this season against the Wolverines, but were outshot on Saturday.
Then on Friday the Wolverines will host the Kings in a potential first round playoff preview. This year, the home team has won each game.
