Waywayseecappo Wolverines: Class of 2020

The Waywayseecappo Wolverines Hockey Club is proud to announce they selected five players at the 2020 MJHL Draft. After auto-protecting defenseman Aiden Ziprick earlier in the week, the Wolverines added four forwards and one defenseman to their system.

ROUND 1, 4th Overall – Ben Roulette, Forward, Rivers MB

Ben Roulette is a very well rounded player, who sees and reads the ice well. In 16 games this season, the 5″10, 145 pound forward racked up 17 points (7 goals, 10 assists) for the Yellowhead Cheifs Bantam AAA team.

ROUND 1, 7th Overall – Kurt Rookes, Defenseman, Manson MB

Three picks later, the Wolverines selected another Yellowhead Cheif. Rookes is a physical defenceman who skates well and possesses a heavy shot. The 5″10, 175-pound defender racked up 41 points, and 84 penalty minutes this season.

Round 3, 26th Overall – Merik Boles, Forward, Lorette MB

After trading their second-round selection, the Wolverines selected Merik Boles. Boles is a full two-hundred-foot player with a high hockey IQ. In 36 games this season, the 5’6 125 pound forward put up 35 points (19 goals, 16 assists) for the Eastman AAA Bantam Selects.

Round 6, 62nd Overall – Keenan Skrupa, Forward, Brandon MB

In the 6th round, the Wolverines snagged a highly-skilled forward from the Brandon AAA Bantam Wheat Kings. Skurpa is a shifty skater who plays in all situations and thinks the game well. In 35 games, the 5’0, 90-pound forward put up 45 points (13 goals, 32 assists)

Round 8, 84th Overall – Tyson Vouriot, Forward, Winnipeg MB

With the hockey clubs’ final pick of the 2020 draft, they chose Tyson Vouriot. Tyson is a strong skater and plays a solid two-hundred-foot game. The 5’6, 130 pound forward, played for the RHA Bantam Prep team and racked up 19 points (10 goals, 9 assists) in 30 games.

The Wolverines would like to welcome all of our new prospects and their families to our program. We look forward to meeting everyone at camp in the fall.
