Training Camp Day 2 Recap

TEAM BLACK 6-5 TEAM WHITE

Team Black came from 4-1 down to get their first win of the Main Camp. Russell Aitkenhead and Ryder Delaquis scored twice, including in the final minutes to finish off the comeback in both team’s second game of the Camp.

Team White went out to a 4-2 lead after one half, with goals by Dylan Prettie, Corwyn Bear, Cade Legaarden and Jacob McKague. Team Black’s goals in the first were scored by Xander Mecas and Delaquis.

In the second, Black tied the game with Aitkenhead’s two goals. White got back in front with a breakaway goal by Sebastien Hicks, but Black tied it with a goal by Aidan Herring. Delaquis finished the scoring with a few minutes left.

TEAM RED 3-1 TEAM YELLOW

Team Red got themselves a 2-0 record after a 3-1 win over Team Yellow.

In the first half, Team Red scored first when Dylan Duzan scored on a penalty shot.

But Team Yellow answered later when Oliver Nickel tied things up.

In the second period in the last minutes, Rhett Perrin buried one to make it 2-1, and Corby Stemkoski made it 3-1.

There was some controversy with a disallowed goal by Team Yellow early on in the game.

TEAM BLACK 5-2 TEAM RED

Sebastian Stone scored twice as Team Black beat Team Red 5-2, to put both teams at 2-1 for the round robin of the camp.

Team Black got to out to a 3-0 lead after goals by Stone, Daine Thomas, and Xander Mecas.

Red made it a two goal game with a goal by Cory Stemkoski, with Black responding with a Ryder Delaquis goal.

Red scored another by Destin Knight, but a late goal by Team Black by Stone made it a three goal lead.

With the win, Team Black automatically makes it to the Joe Brandon Cup game.

TEAM YELLOW 5-4 TEAM WHITE (OT)

Cade McCallum scored the overtime winner to send Team Yellow to the Joe Brandon Cup with a come from behind win.

After falling down 3-1, Yellow came back with two goals by Kalix Monkman and Max Collyer. After Sebastien Hicks gave White another lead, Collyer came through in the clutch with 20 seconds left to tie the game.

White went up 3-1 after the first half with goals by Hicks, Ben Brambilla and Mikey Thomas. Yellow’s only goal was by Isaac McArthur.
