Terriers edge the Wolverines in Yorkton

The Waywayseecappo Wolverines dropped their third consecutive preseason game after losing 3-2 to the Yorkton Terriers.

The Yorkton Terriers started the scoring with a goal by Dylan Ruptash 9:19 into the game.

The Terriers were all over the Wolverines for most of the period, until Waywayseecappo ended the period off with a bang, scoring two goals in the last 3:15 of the game.

Sean Williams was able to collect a rebound and get it past Caleb Allen to tie the game.

With 30 seconds left, Owen Wheatley finished off a broken play to score and make it 2-1 heading into the third period.

In the second period, Ruptash scored his second of the game to make it 2-2 after two periods.

In the third, there was no scoring until Aiden Knutsen scored on a 2-on-1 to give the Terriers the late lead.

Yorkton outshot the Wolverines 52-29 in the contest.

The Wolverines next game will be at home on Friday against the Neepawa Titans.
