Ten goals for the Wolverines

Ten unanswered goals for the Waywayseecappo Wolverines gave them a blowout win over the OCN Blizzard, by a score of 10-1.

Jacob Charko picked up a Gordie Howe hat trick (goal, assist, fight), Boston Bird had five assists, and Lucas Eagle has three assists in the dominating win over their West Division rivals.

OCN scored the first goal of the game at 6:01 of the first period, from Mike Hlady who put it over Brett Mirwald.

But after that it was all Wolverines.

Boone Mathison got the first for the team only a minute and a half later to tie the game.

Joey Moffatt scored his first of two on the night to put the Wolverines up in front for good.

Jacob Charko and Leyton Smith also scored to round out the period at 4-1.

In the second period, the Wolverines got goals by Reagan Rabbit, Kolton Shindle and once again by Moffatt and Mathison to make it 8-1 at the end of the period.

In the third, Eric Krywy got his first as a Wolverine and Carson Baptiste got the 10th goal for Waywayseecappo.

The Blizzard started the game with Steven Bacovsky, but after letting up the 5th goals, Nick Pineo came in for the rest of the game.

Brett Mirwald stopped 24 shots in the game.

The two teams will play again on Sunday, when they play in Russell at 7:00pm.
