For the first time, the Russell Memorial Multiplex will play host to an MJHL game, when the Waywayseecappo Wolverines and OCN Blizzard play there on Sunday at 7:00pm.
The Blizzard will be the home team for the game as they have been forced to play elsewhere than their home arena for the time being.
The Wolverines will look to continue their win streak in general and against the Blizzard in the game. They currently have won four straight games, and have won all six games against OCN this season.
Friday’s game in Waywayseecappo was the most lopsided result between the two teams so far, as the the Wolverines scored ten unanswered to win 10-1. Former Blizzard Boston Bird got five assists in the game, and Boone Mathison and Joey Moffatt scored twice each in the win.
The Wolverines were about three minutes away on Friday to jumping into first place in the West Division, but the Dauphin Kings completed an improbable comeback to stay one point ahead of Waywayseecappo. Dauphin also plays on Sunday against the Oil Capitals.
For the Blizzard, they have now fallen seven points back of Neepawa for 4th place in the West (the last playoff spot). They do have two games in hand.
