Roulette named to Manitoba Aboriginal Team

Waywayseecappo Wolverines forward Ben Roulette has been named to Team Manitoba for the 2023 National Aboriginal Hockey Championships that will take place in Winnipeg.

The event will take place at the Seven Oaks Arena from May 7th to 13th 2023.

Roulette was on the team last season, as Team Manitoba finished fifth at the tournament in Manitou, Nova Scotia.

The 17-year-old from Rivers, Manitoba, has three goals and three assists in six games in 30 games in his first season in a Wolverines uniform.

He previously played for the Yellowhead Chiefs in the Manitoba Under-18 Hockey League.

Along with Roulette, two players listed with the Wolverines also made the roster, as Dayton Desjarlais and Darian Sinclair will also play on Team Manitoba.

Desjarlais plays with the Winnipeg Thrashers of MU18HL, and has 11 goals and 11 assists in 40 games this season.

Sinclair has 9 goals and 11 assists with the Interlake Lightning of the MU18HL, and has played two games with the Peguis Juniors of the KIJHL.

There is another Wolverines connection, as Team Manitoba General Manager Kevin Monkman, is also the Manitoba scout for the Wolverines.
