A familiar face will be returning to the Waywayseecappo Wolverines lineup this season, as Kurt Rookes has signed with the team for the 2025-26 season.
The 20-year-old two way player from Manson, Manitoba, will be returning to the team after two seasons away playing in the Western Hockey League with the Wenatchee Wild and Swift Current Broncos.
Rookes played his only year with the Wolverines in the 2022-23 season, winning the team’s rookie of the year, putting up five goals and 11 assists in 54 games, starting the year as a forward before playing defence at the end of the season.
Kurt was originally picked in the 2020 MJHL Draft by the Wolverines, 7th overall.
The Wolverines would like to welcome Kurt and his family back to the organization.
