The Waywayseecappo Wolverines survived a Winnipeg Blues comeback to win 3-2 in overtime.
Sebastien Hicks scored 2:56 into the overtime period, batting the puck out of midair on a rebound to give the Wolverines two points.
In the first period, the Wolverines got on the board first when Aidan Herring tipped a shot from Lucas Perry on the powerplay to give the Wolverines a 1-0 lead after one period.
In the second period, the Wolverines nearly went the whole period without a goal even though they outshot the Blues, but 59 seconds left to go, Dru Mushumanski walked in all alone to get his 8th of the year to make it 2-0 at the second break.
In the third period, the Blues came back with two goals in the final ten minutes from Lukas Mager and Tate Dolinsky to tie the game at 2.
But after a mostly dominant overtime period by the Wolverines, Hicks ended up with the overtime winner.
Mariko Bercier stopped 39 shots in the win, while Samuel Couture stopped 41 shots in the loss.
The Wolverines were 1/4 on the powerplay, and killed off all four of the Blues chances.
The Wolverines will next play the Winnipeg Freeze on Friday night to wrap up the back to back
