The Waywayseecappo Wolverines losing streak is over, after they defeated the Selkirk Steelers 4-3 on Tuesday night.
The Wolverines scored three unanswered after trailing early in the second period, and had four different goal scorers throughout the game to get their first win in six games.
Waywayseecappo started the scoring when Treycen Wuttunee was able to beat Ethan Sawyer with a nice move after a nice pass from Ben Roulette.
In the second period, the Steelers got back to back goals from Wyatt Witham and Owen Branson to take the lead.
But on the powerplay, Ben Roulette was able to beat Swayer glove side with a snipe to tie the game up.
Later on in the period, Dylan Duzan was able to rip one by after a breakaway pass from Noah Oughton to put the Wolverines back on top.
In the third period, on the powerplay, Cole Hunter was able to whack a loose puck in to make it a two goal game down the stretch.
The Steelers did get within one with 1:03 left in the game when Branson scored his second of the game, but the Wolverines were able to shut the door the rest of the way to get the win.
The Wolverines powerplay finally clicked as they went 3/5 with the man advantage, and killed off three of four Selkirk powerplays.
Mariko Bercier was excellent again, stopping 22 of 25 shots in the game.
The Wolverines next game will be on Friday as they take on the Steinbach Pistons on Friday night at 7pm.
