RECAP: Wolverines shutout Monarchs

The Waywayseecappo Wolverines were able to pick up their third straight win, and at least a point in their ninth straight game, with a 4-0 win over the Winnipeg Monarchs.

Wolverines goaltender Jase Wareham had a 21 save shutout, which gave him 33 wins all-time, and moved him into first place for the Wolverines all-time wins record.

After a scoreless first period, the Wolverines it took until the 13:53 mark of the second period when Sebastien Hicks scored as the Monarchs had a delayed penalty, and Wayway was able to have a 6-on-5 for the time being.

Later on the powerplay, Kurt Rookes scored on the powerplay off a rebound to make it 2-0.

In the third period, Mikey Thomas ripped one past Dylan McFadyen to make it 3-0, and then Sebastian Stone scored the final goal with just over a minute left to go.

The Wolverines were 1/2 on the powerplay and killed off all three penalties.

The next game the Wolverines will play is in Winnipeg as they take on the Blues at 7:30pm on Friday.
