RECAP: Wolverines shut down Kings

Just like the first three games of the season series between the Waywayseecappo Wolverines and Dauphin Kings, one team had trouble scoring, but this time it was the Kings as the Wolverines won 3-1 at the Waywayseecappo Arena.

Cole Hunter scored two goals, Jase Wareham stopped 32 shots and Kurt Rookes added two helpers as the Wolverines got their first win over Dauphin this season.

The Kings outshot the Wolverines 33-22, but didn’t come too close in the third period as the Wolverines were able to grind out the game to get two points and get a bit closer to the crowd at the top of the West Division.

Matthew O’Sullivan scored the only goal for Dauphin when he tied the game in the first period. Ben Roulette scored the other goal for the Wolverines, which ended up being the game winner.

Both teams were unsuccessful on the powerplay in a combined four attempts.

The Wolverines next game will be on Friday as they head to Neepawa to take on the Titans.
