In the month of February, there has been no stopping the Waywayseecappo Wolverines.
The team picked up their 7th straight win, and 13th game with a point after a 5-2 win over their divisional rivals, the Neepawa Titans.
Kurt Rookes had a three point night and Jase Wareham stopped 21 shots as the Wolverines defeated their divisional rival.
Neepawa actually scored the first goal as Logan Pacquette got his 17th goal of the season on a breakaway goal.
The Wolverines tied the game when Cole Hunter was able to score off a few lucky bounces.
In the second period, both teams were unable to score as the Wolverines controlled play with a few powerplays and outshooting the Titans 11-6.
In the third, the Wolverines put themselves in the lead when Aidan Herring was able to deke out Zach Burleigh in close to make it 2-1.
Kurt Rookes made it a two goal lead when he was able to pounce on a turnover and was able to slide it past Burleigh.
The Titans got within one when Dawson Andries got his 4th of the season, but the Wolverines got two empty net goals by Jake Nelson and Rhett Perrin that put the game away.
With the win, the Wolverines won the all important season series against the Titans, which means they own the tiebreaker if the two teams are tied at the end of the season.
Now Waywayseecappo will travel for a road trip up north as they take on the Northern Manitoba Blizzard on Tuesday at 7:00pm.
