The Waywayseecappo Wolverines weren’t able to keep the puck out of their net on the penalty kill or on the powerplay, and they lost 4-2 to the Portage Terriers.
Two powerplay goals by the Terriers and one shorthanded goal was the difference in the game, as the Terriers scored late in the third to give themselves the win.
After the Wolverines took the lead after the first period on a Mikey Thomas goal, the Terries answered twice in the second when Ryker Thomas scored shorthanded, and then Rhett Platt scored his 8th of the year to make it a 2-1 lead.
In the third, Sebastien Hicks scored his 12th of the season off a tipped shot from Ryley Cyca, to tie the game up at 2.
With 10:43 left in the game, Trevor Hill scored his 10th of the year in a wide open net on the powerplay to give themselves a 3-2 lead.
An empty net goal by Adam Belzil put the game away and made it 4-2.
Mariko Bercier stopped 29 shots in the game in the loss, while Donavan Bodnar stopped 18 shots in the loss.
The Wolverines next game will be on November 9th when they take on the Niverville Nighthawks.
