The Waywayseecappo Wolverines dropped another game, this time late as they fell 5-3 to the Winkler Flyers.
In a game that featured 136 penalty minutes, the Wolverines gave up the game winning goal with 3:44 left in the game by Jacob Michelson. Liam Carlone added an insurance marker just minutes later, to make it 5-3.
The Wolverines got out to a lead in the first period, when after Winkler scored first with a goal by William Lyons, Waywayseecappo answered with a shorthanded by Treycen Wuttunee, goal by Blake Farthing and a powerplay goal by Mikey Thomas.
Heading into the second period up 3-1, Winkler tied it up by the end of the 20 minutes as Connor Vandal scored a shorthanded goal and then Aidan Grant scored on the powerplay with minutes left in the period.
The game was looking like it would go to overtime before Michelson scored to put the Flyers up permanently.
Both teams were 1/5 on the powerplay, and the shots 34-27 for the Flyers.
Waywayseecappo’s next game will be on Thursday as they host the Steinbach Pistons.
