The Waywayseecappo Wolverines have brought in the Swan Valley Stampeders to the West Division playoff race, after losing to the Stamps 5-2 on Saturday night.
Swan Valley swept the Wolverines over the weekend with a combined score of 11-4, bringing them four points back of the Wolverines and Virden Oil Capitals for the fourth and final playoff spot in the West.
The Stampeders got on the board first when Carson Legault scored 6:25 in to the game. But the Wolverines tied it up quickly when Sebastien Hicks scored with a top shelf goal.
In the second period, the Stampeders scored to put themselves in the lead with 14 seconds left in the period, with a Will Brown breakaway.
In the third, it was at the 8:30 mark, Jaxon Grosdidier scored on the powerplay to tie it up, but then things fell apart.
In a span of 16 seconds, Ben Groome and Ryder Boddez scored to put the Stampeders up 4-2 late in the third period.
Landen Gulutzen put the final touches on the game in the final minute to make it 5-2.
The Wolverines have now lost their last three games and will face the Northern Manitoba Blizzard on Tuesday, before taking on the Stampeders again on Saturday.
