RECAP: Wolverines go winless on road trip

A bad first period led to the Waywayseecappo Wolverines dropping their second straight game on the weekend, losing 3-2 to the Winnipeg Blues.

The first period was a disaster for the Wolverines, as they had their chances and two powerplays, but the Blues pounced on their chances, as Ryden Duchon, Dane MacInnis and Campbell Epp scored in seven minutes of game time.

In the second period, the Blake Farthing made it a two goal game after long heave from Cale Livingston from the opposite side of the rink, sprung Farthing on the break.

In the third, Ben Roulette scored to make it a one goal game, but the rest of the periods chances just couldn’t find the back of the net and the Wolverines dropped the game.

After the first period when the Wolverines were outshot 17-12, they outshot the Blues the rest of the way 24-13. Mason Burkes stopped 34 shots in the win.

The next game for the Wolverines will be on Tuesday as they host the Winkler Flyers.
