It was just as close of a game between the Waywayseecappo Wolverines and the Virden Oil Capitals, just this time it was Virden that ended up on top with a 3-1 win.
The Oil Capitals scored two quick goals in the first period, and Braxton Burdeny stopped 30 of 31 shots on net, as the Oil Caps held on for the win to split the weekend set.
The Wolverines only goal came from Aidan Herring, who wired one with 5:27 left in the third period on a powerplay. The Wolverines who were dominant with the man advantage on Friday, were only 1/6 on Saturday. Their penalty kill helped keep the game close, killing off all three Oil Caps powerplays.
After a tough start in the first period, Mariko Bercier found his game for the rest of the game, stopping 27 of 29 shots on net.
The Oil Caps got their goals from Ty Plaisier and Cohen Lewko in the first, and London Hoilett scored an empty netter to close out the game.
The Wolverines will next head to Neepawa on Wednesday to play the Titans at 7:30pm.
