The Waywayseecappo Wolverines bounced back in a big way to beat the Winnipeg Monarchs 9-0 on Saturday night.
Three different players scored two goals, and Mariko Bercier stopped all 21 shots he faced for his first shutout of the season.
The Wolverines bounced on Winnipeg early, scoring three goals in the opening frame from Sebastien Hicks, Ben Roulette and Dylan Duzan. In the second period, only a powerplay goal from Mikey Thomas would do, but it was the third period where the game got out of hand, as Hicks, Aidan Herring, Duzan, Thomas and Treycen Wuttunee all scored to make it a 9-0 game.
The Wolverines powerplay continued their hot streak, going 3/5 with the man advantage, while the penalty kill was a perfect 2/2.
Waywayseecappo will next take on the Virden Oil Capitals in a home and home in the next week, starting on Wednesday for a matinee start at 12:30pm at the Waywayseecappo Arena.
