RECAP: Wolverines defeated in overtime

The Waywayseecappo Wolverines got out of their Friday night game with a point after a 3-2 overtime loss to the Portage Terriers.

Dawson Madden scored twice for the Terriers, including the overtime winner at 2:09 in the extra frame, to give Portage their third straight win over the Wolverines in the last two weeks.

The Wolverines were able to tie the game up after two different one goal deficits, and tied the game for good when Maddox Mason scored 6:03 into the third period.

Sebastian Hicks scored the other goal for the Wolverines in the second period.

For Portage, Nolan Nenow scored the first goal in the early parts of the second period.

Both teams were able to get a powerplay goal in the game, with the Terriers going 1/3, and the Wolverines going 1/5 with the man advantage.

Jase Wareham stopped 25 shots in the loss, while Mitchell Kathler stopped 19 shots in the win.

The Wolverines will next take on the Neepawa Titans on Saturday night, in Neepawa at 7:30pm.
