It was a night to forget for the Waywayseecappo Wolverines as they lost 8-2 to the Swan Valley Stampeders.
The scoring started early and kept going throughout the night for the Stamps, as they scored 8 on on 27 shots.
The first period was ugly for the Wolverines as they fell behind 3-0 quick, with goals by Wylie Smith, Crosby Harrison and Noah Stott in the first 12 minutes of the game. Sebastien Hicks scored his 21st of the season to get within two goals, but Trace Langan scored just a few minutes later to make it 4-1 Swan Valley after the first period.
In the second period, the Wolverines got within two with a Sebastian stone rebound goal, but then the Stampeders continued their scoring with three more in the period from Ben Groome, Andrew Pidskalny and Crosby Harrison.
In the third, they put on the finishing touches with a goal by Jake Giacobbo to make it 8-2.
Mariko Bercier started the game, but was pulled after the fifth goal, and Jase Wareham had to wear the last three goals of the game.
The game was testy towards the end, with a few 10 minute misconducts and a fight. The teams combined for 144 penalty minutes in the game.
The Wolverines will face the Winnipeg Monarchs tomorrow night at the Waywayseecappo Arena.
