The Waywayseecappo have now gone a full month since they haven’t picked up at least a point in a game. And the win streak is now at 6.
The Wolverines beat their divisional the Dauphin Kings 4-1 on Monday afternoon in front of a crowd of 650.
The Wolverines moved into a tie with Dauphin for second place with the win, and has set themselves good for the rest of the year to try and get home ice advantage in the first round. The team has gone 11-0-1 in their last 12 games on home ice.
The Wolverines got out of the first period with a 1-0 lead after Ben Roulette scored his 22nd of the year with a nice move in front of the net.
In the second, Waywayseecappo got two goals in the first half of the period as Wuttunee in front and a nice passing play to Noah Oughton led to goals to make it 3-0 heading into the third.
Dauphin did get one with a scramble in front as Dylan Miko scored his first junior goal to make it a two goal game, but the Wolverines hung on, even though they were outshot in the period 17-5.
Ben Roulette put the game away with an empty net goal 1:23 left in the game.
Mariko Bercier stopped 33 shots in the win, while Hunter Bauer stopped only 15 in the loss.
The Wolverines will look to make it seven in a row when they take on the Neepawa Titans on Thursday at 7:30pm.
