RECAP: Slow start leads to Wolverines loss

The Waywayseecappo Wolverines found themselves in a big hole after the first period, which lead to a 7-3 defeat to the hands of the Steinbach Pistons.

The Pistons scored four goals after Noah Oughton started the scoring for the Wolverines after a shot that went high up in the air after hitting Easton Thvedt and fell behind him for a goal. The Pistons responded two goals by Jack Greenwell, one by Cullen Ingebritson and Liam Doyle before the buzzer went off. The four goals were scored within ten minutes of each other.

The Wolverines got within two goals when Dylan Duzan was able to roof it over Thvedt at the 6:26 mark of the second period, but a few minutes later, Luke Bogart on a breakaway was able to beat Mariko Bercier.

In the third period, Ben Roulette on the powerplay made it a two goal game once again with a powerplay goal, but the after some penalty trouble with the Wolverines, the Pistons were able to score two late goals as Zhenya Miles and Ingebritson scored, both on the powerplay.

The Wolverines went through two goalies in the game, as Jase Wareham started the game, but was pulled after the first period. Bercier 7 of 10 the rest of the way.

The Wolverines will now head to Portage on Saturday night to take on the Terriers at 7:30pm.
