RECAP: Shorthanded Wolverines lose to Pistons

The Waywayseecappo Wolverines were playing with a different lineup thanks to injuries all throughout the team, and it showed as the team lost 4-0 to the Steinbach Pistons.

After a decent start, the Wolverines couldn’t get much going in the last two periods, giving up four goals to lose the Pistons once again this season.

After a scoreless first period, the Pistons scored three in the second with the line of Evan Gradt, Grady Hoffman and Brody Green all scoring a goal each and also getting assists on the other two goals.

After the second period, it was 3-0 Pistons.

In the third, it was mostly scoreless until the final seconds when Jack Greenwell scored an empty net goal to make it 4-0.

Mariko Bercier stopped 31 of 34 shots in the loss, while Easton Thvedt stopped all 20 shots he faced for his second shutout of the season.

The Wolverines schedule doesn’t get much easier as they take on the league leading Niverville Nighthawks on Tuesday night at the Waywayseecappo Arena.
