RECAP: Offence dries up in loss to Neepawa

A second time in a week that the Wolverines visited Neepawa, and it was the same result for Waywayseecapo.

The Wolverines lost 3-1 to the Neepawa Titans on Friday night, but not in the same way as they did last week.

The penalty kill was a perfect 3/3 in the game, oppose to the 50% success rate from a week before. But the scoring dried up once again, as KC Couckuyt stopped 25 of 26 shots in the game for the win.

The Wolverines also got great goaltending, as Jase Wareham stopped 27 of 29 shots in the contest.

In the first period, there was no scoring as the Wolverines outshot the Titans, 12-9.

In the second period, the Wolverines got on the board early when Jaxon Grosdidier pulled a goal out of his bag of tricks shorthanded to make it 1-0.

But just a little over halfway, the Titans tied it up when Logan Pacquette finished off a 2-on-1.

In the third period, the Titans took the lead when Addison McIntosh scored just 6:45 into the period.

After that, Neepawa was able to shut down the Wolverines, as Waywayseecappo only got eight shots the entire third period.

Neepawa got one late goal in an empty net, when Caden Hegerty scored his 14th os the season.

The season series between the two teams is now tied up at two games a piece, with the home team winning each game.
