RECAP: New-look Wolverines roll Stampeders

The Waywayseecappo Wolverines got their first win of the 2025 portion of their season with a 5-1 victory over the Swan Valley Stampeders.

The new look Wolverines, with the return of Jack Clarke, and second game of Rhett Perrin looked like a different team that the one that lost the first three games of the new year.

The Wolverines started the scoring when Perrin with a breakaway goal to get his first goal as a Wolverines.

It took until the second period to add anymore, as Sebastien Hicks scored on the powerplay to make it 2-0.

Aidan Herring gave the Wolverines a three goal lead when he got his ninth of the season after a beautiful shot that got past Rowan White.

In the third period, the Stampeders got within two goals and started a mini-push when Will Brown was able to lift a puck over Jase Wareham.

But Dru Mushumanski put the game away halfway through the period with a quick top shelf goal past White.

Jaxon Grosdidier later got his much needed point (and goal) with 31 seconds left to go to improve his point streak to 8 games on the year, and make it a final 5-1.

Wareham stopped 29/30 shots in the win, while White stopped 23 in the loss.

The Wolverines next game will be on Tuesday as they take on the Winkler Flyers at home at 7;30pm.
