RECAP: Kings go up 3-0 with OT goal

The Waywayseecappo Wolverines will have to come from behind in the series as they dropped a 3-2 game in overtime to fall behind 3-0 in the best of seven series to the Dauphin Kings.

Gavin Nemis’ third goal of the playoffs at the 3:29 mark into the first overtime gave the Kings the win at Credit Union Place.

The first period for the third consecutive game was scoreless. Dauphin led the shots 17-11.

But in the second period, both teams went off asĀ  Matthew Thomas scored the first goal of the game on a 4-on-2 chance.

The Wolverines tied it up at the 13:09 mark as Maddox Mason’s shot found its way through.

But just over a minute later, Cayden Glover scored his second of the playoffs to give the Kings a 2-1 lead.

But with a minute left to go in the period, Sebastian Stone scored the series’ first powerplay goal as he was able to bang in a rebound to make it 2-2.

In the third period, the Kings were mostly all over the Wolverines with a 15-4 shot advantage, except the final minutes were controlled by the Wolverines.
