RECAP: Comeback falls short in Neepawa

A third period comeback was a goal away, but the Waywayseecappo Wolverines fell in a 5-2 loss to the Neepawa Titans.

A fiery game, with a few ejections, ended up going the Titans way as they clinched a playoff spot.

The Wolverines found themselves down three goals heading into the third period, and eventually got one goal away, but a couple goals near the end by the Titans put the game away.

Titans Logan Pacquette and Wolverines Xander Mecas both were given at least five minute penalties at different times in the game. The Titans were able to kill the Wolverines powerplay, but the Wolverines could not. Waywayseecappo had to kill off a nine minute powerplay, and conceded two goals.

The Titans goal scorers were Logan Pacquette, Talen Lewis, Caden Hegerty, Carter McLeod and Cooper Kasprick.

For the Wolverines, it was Cole Hunter and Jaxon Grosdidier.

Bercier stopped 38 shots in the loss, while Mason Lobreau stopped 31 shots in the win.

The Wolverines got some help in the league, as Steinbach  was able to beat the Virden Oil Capitals 4-1. Because of that, the Wolverines are still one point up, as the Virden and Waywayseecappo face off on Tuesday night in Waywayseecappo.
