PREVIEW: Wolverines-Terriers play home and home

The Waywayseecappo Wolverines and the Portage Terriers are set to face off three times in the next two weeks, including a home and home this weekend.

The Wolverines are riding into the two contests with a three game point streak, after wins over Dauphin, Northern Manitoba and an overtime loss to the Winkler Flyers. Sadly those points haven’t done much to get closer to Virden for the final playoff spot in the West Division, they are still five points back of the Oil Capitals.

The Terriers have lost three in a row, and four of their last five games after having an 11-game winning streak right before. The losses have come at a time when they have not been able to get more than three goals in a game in the last five.

The Terriers carry the leading scorer in the league, as Cameron Bullinger has 32 points in 25 games.

In the last five seasons, the Wolverines are 3-4-0-1 against the Terriers.

This will be the two teams first matchup of the season, before playing again on Saturday in Waywayseecappo. After three games in two weeks, they won’t play again until March.
