PREVIEW: Wolverines taking on Blues in close to must-win game

The week started promising for the Wolverines, and at the moment, it looks like a 50/50 chance as they try to get into the MJHL Playoffs.

After starting the week three points ahead of the Virden Oil Capitals, three days later, and a 3-2 loss to the Dauphin Kings, all of a sudden the Wolverines are one point back of Virden for the final playoff spot.

As the Wolverines get set to take on the Winnipeg Blues tonight for their final home regular season game, they know going into it, no one will be clinching and no one will be eliminated after the day. But it will certainly set up  an exciting Saturday night.

The Wolverines still control their own destiny, and know that two wins will get them into the playoffs. A win tonight will give them a one point edge heading into Dauphin on Saturday. Virden will be going to Neepawa on Saturday for their final game of the season.

A loss in any way,  will leave the Wolverines behind the Oil Caps, and at the disadvantage and leaving the team scoreboard watching throughout the game on Saturday.

As for the matchup in front of us, the Blues and Wolverines have played in some tight games this year. The Wolverines have won all three, but have won two games in overtime, and the other was a 3-1 win. The Blues come into the game having lost their last 16 games.
