PREVIEW: Wolverines play Dauphin in important Saturday clash

Fifty-seven games later, it all comes down to Saturday night as the Waywayseecappo Wolverines head to Dauphin to take on the Kings.

With a one point edge over the Virden Oil Capitals, the Wolverines will be looking for a win to clinch a spot in the MJHL Playoffs for the first time since 2021-22 season. As well as playing, fans of the Wolverines will be scoreboard watching as the Oil Caps head to Neepawa to take on the Titans tonight.

Although there is numerous scenarios that could happen tonight, the simple explanation is this – if the Wolverines win tonight, they will be in the playoffs. If they don’t win, Virden will have to lose in Neepawa tonight for the Wolverines to still make the playoffs.

The Wolverines and Kings played on Tuesday, with the Kings winning that game 3-2. Since then, Virden has won two straight to get them back in a playoff spot, until Waywayseecappo won on Friday night to get back a point ahead.

Both Neepawa and Dauphin tonight will have nothing to play for except for pride at both of their home finales until the playoffs start next weekend.

Both games start at 7:30pm.
