PREVIEW: Wolverines looking to bounce back against Virden

The Waywayseecappo Wolverines are coming off a disappointing 7-4 loss to the Virden Oil Capitals on Wednesday afternoon, but will play them once again on Friday night in Virden.

The Wolverines (4-4-0-0) have not been able to string together a pair of wins or losses together this year, alternating through the first eight games. They are hoping that stays the same for Friday as they don’t want to drop a second straight game to the Oil Capitals (5-2-0-0) , who sit first in the West Division with 10 points.

On Wednesday, the Wolverines found themselves down 4-1 after the first period, and after nearly coming back (getting within one goal), the Oil Caps put the finishing touches on the game with two late goals.

The biggest issue for the Wolverines has been keeping the puck out of the net, allowing the third most goals against, with 32 given up. But their offence has been doing their part, with a the second most goals in the league, a whopping 36 scored this year.

The Wolverines have plenty of streaks when it comes to individual stats, as Ben Roulette has a 8 game point streak (5-10-15) to start the season. Meanwhile Sebastien Hicks has scored in five straight games (six goals total), and Aidan Herring has scored in four straight games (five goals).

This will be the last meeting of the two teams until January.
