PREVIEW: Wolverines look to bounce back against Stampeders

Well that wasn’t the start the Wolverines were looking for.

Waywayseecappo started the unofficial second half of the season with a 6-2 loss to the Swan Valley Stampeders.

The game got off the rails early, as the Stampeders got out to a 3-0 lead in the first seven minutes. The Wolverines battled back to make it 4-2 at the end of the first, but two Stamps goals in the second period put the game away.

Because of that, the race for fourth in the West Division is getting a bit more crowded, as the Stamps only sit six points back of Waywayseecappo and Virden, who are tied with 24 points. As of right now, the Oil Capitals own the tiebreaker because of the season series.

The Wolverines will look to get off to a better start and take the lead in the season series with Swan Valley. The two teams will play again on Saturday, January 11th in Waywayseecappo.

The Wolverines will be getting their top scorer back, as Jaxon Grosdidier comes back from a one game suspension because of a hit from behind. He leads the team with 26 points in 31 games this year.
