PREVIEW: Wolverines host Pistons for first time this season

WAYWAYSEECAPPO WOLVERINES

Wolverines Regular Season Record: 8-13-1 Home: 4-5-0 PP: 21.7% (8th) PK: 75.0% (10th) Rank: 4th in West Division, 9th in MJHL

Team Outlook: The Wolverines have had a tough first third of the season, as they continue to be the only team in the league that has yet to win two straight games in a row. Thankfully because of West Division, they still sit tied for third in the West, and four points up on Swan Valley for the final playoff spot in the division. After starting the year scoring at will, the fortunes have turned for the team, with their inability to score at the right time, and giving up a late goal has been the problem for two of the last four losses for the team. They continue a stretch of playing East Division teams that will continue until December 13th.

Head Coach: Landyn Cochrane

STEINBACH PISTONS

Pistons Regular Season Record:  15-4-1 Away: 7-3-1 PP: 22.9% (5th) PK: 84.3% (3rd) Rank: 2nd in East Division, 2nd in MJHL

Team Outlook: The Steinbach Pistons are doing what they have always been good at doing, and that is win a lot of games. They are second in the league in points and wins on the year, and are doing it at will, as long as the team they are facing isn’t the Niverville Nighthawks, which they have lost all three games to this year. The other two losses were to Portage and Neepawa. The team has appeared better at their new Southeast Event Centre than on the road, as the powerplay, penalty kill and record all take a significant fall when traveling. Their last three games against the West have been entertaining, with an overtime win over Swan Valley, close win over Virden and an 8-6 barn burning win over Dauphin.
