PREVIEW: Wolverines host Blues

The Waywayseecappo Wolverines will start a week of games against teams out of the playoff picture tonight at home against the Winnipeg Blues.

The Wolverines (5-4-0) come into the game beating the Virden Oil Capitals on Friday night, 4-3, bouncing back from their loss to the Oil Capitals on Wednesday. The win got the team to 10 points on the year, good for third in the West Division. They start a stretch of four games against teams out of the playoff picture, playing the Blues tonight, before playing the Northern Manitoba Blizzard twice, and then playing the Swan Valley Stampeders on Tuesday.

For the Winnipeg Blues (2-4-2), they come into the game on a two game point streak, after beating the Winnipeg Monarchs and losing to the Swan Valley Stampeders in overtime. They have shown respectable efforts against better teams this year than other teams near the bottom of the standings.

The two teams will play four times this year, with the next game scheduled in Winnipeg in November.

Coming into the game, Wolverines forward Ben Roulette has a nine game point streak (7 goals, 11 assists) to start the season. Aidan Herring also has a four game goal streak (5 goals) after missing Friday’s game against Virden.
