PREVIEW | Wolverines head to Virden to finish off weekend

After a season opening win, the Waywayseecappo Wolverines are looking to finish off the weekend with a sweep over the Virden Oil Capitals.

This time, Virden will be hosting their home opener at Tundra Oil & Gas Place, game starting at 7:30pm.

Last night, the Wolverines were 3/5 on the powerplay, to lead them to a 4-2 win over Virden.

Jase Wareham stopped 32 shots for the win, but the Wolverines will turn to Mariko Bercier on the second half of the back to back.

The game was affected at times by ice conditions because of the humid weather around the area, which led to a bouncy puck at times during the game and an 11 minute delay in the third period.

This will be the second of six games this season between the two teams. The third and fourth games will take place in two weeks, before the last two games of the season series happen in 2026.

After this game, the Wolverines will play back to back games in the middle of the week, and Virden will not play again until the next weekend.
