PREVIEW: Wolverines head to Niverville for last road game of 2024

The Waywayseecappo Wolverines will end 2024 the same way they started the 24-25 season, with games against the Niverville Nighthawks.

The Wolverines will head to the Niverville Recreation Centre for the first time this season to take on the Nighthawks.

The first time the two teams played, was the Wolverines home opener, where Niverville won 6-0.

The Nighthawks are tied for fourth place in the very competitive East Division with 39 points. They currently have the Steelers beat by point percentage. Meanwhile the Wolverines are in the same spot in the West Division, but with only 22 points, currently on top of Virden because of less games played,

The Wolverines are coming off an up and down week, after beating the top team in the West, the Dauphin Kings, they then dropped two in a row, one to the Neepawa Titans, and a second game to the shorthanded Steinbach Pistons.

The Wolverines will be taking on the top ranked penalty kill in the league, as the Nighthawks possess a 87.7% kill this year. Included in that is 7 shorthanded goals this year, leading the league.

The two teams will play again on Friday in Waywayseecappo before they wrap up the season series in Niverville on February
