PREVIEW: Wolverines head to Neepawa

The Waywayseecappo Wolverines (9-14-2-0) will head to Neepawa to take on the Neepawa Titans (14-12-1-1) on Saturday night at the Yellowhead Centre.

The two teams haven’t played since early in October, when the Wolverines beat Neepawa 5-1 in a School Game matinee. Both games the two have played, the Wolverines won handedly, only allowing one goal each game.

Neepawa sits third in the West Division, with 30 points on the year, only three back of Northern Manitoba for 2nd in the division. They recently beat the Oil Capitals in Virden, 4-1, but have lost some winnable games, losing to the Winnipeg Freeze in back to back games.

For the Wolverines, they have picked up three points in the last two games, and points in five of the last eight games in what is considered to be the toughest stretch of the season. They now sit two points back of Virden for the final playoff spot, and wi

The Titans are one of the better teams on home ice, having a 9-4 record at the Yellowhead Centre.

The matchup to watch will be the special teams battle, as the Titans are the 3rd best powerplay in the league, with the Wolverines owning one of the top penalty kills in the league this year.

The two teams will meet once again in a weeks time, once again in Neepawa on December 13th.
